Anindita Ghose is a writer, journalist and communications consultant based in Bombay. Her debut novel ‘The Illuminated’ was published by HarperCollins in India in 2021 and Head of Zeus in the U.K. in 2023. Bloomsbury subsequently distributed the book worldwide. ‘The Only City’ [Bombay in Eighteen Stories], an anthology edited by her, is forthcoming in October 2025 by HarperCollins.
Most recently, Anindita led strategic communications for a global social impact consultancy.
Anindita was formerly the Features Director of Vogue India and the Editor of Mint Lounge—the award-winning Saturday magazine that supplements the Indian business daily Mint. Her writing across art, culture, food, books, design, travel and wellness has appeared in the Guardian, The Caravan, Index for Censorship, Kinfolk, The News (Pakistan), Vogue, Esquire, Architectural Digest, Condé Nast Traveller, Hindustan Times and the Hindu Literary Review, among other publications.
Anindita has a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York and a master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Mumbai. In 2019, she was awarded the Hawthornden Writing Fellowship in Scotland.
