Anindita Ghose is a writer, journalist and editor from Bombay. Her debut novel ‘The Illuminated’ was published by Head of Zeus (Bloomsbury) in the U.K. in January 2023. It was first published by 4th Estate HarperCollins in India in 2021.
Anindita was most recently the editor of Mint Lounge, the award-winning Saturday magazine that supplements the Indian business daily Mint. As the Features Director of Vogue India, she wrote and commissioned stories on art, books, culture, design, architecture and travel. Anindita has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York; a master’s degree in linguistics and an undergraduate degree in media studies from the University of Mumbai. In 2019, she was a Hawthornden Writing Fellow in Scotland.
The Independent has picked Anindita as one of their nine best upcoming authors from India.
She has taught cultural semiotics as a guest lecturer at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and at the University of Mumbai and worked variously as a copywriter, art guide, and voiceover artist. Currently, she leads communications for a global social impact consulting firm and is writing her second novel.
